Sew Wild Canada was created by Renee, who decided to pass down the sewing skills she had learned from her mother to her daughter. Renee started by teaching her how to make baby quilts, then expanded to dog bandanas and then eco-friendly utensil wraps for adults and kids. The pair began selling their items on Etsy. As the business grew, Renee’s daughter got a full time job and mom took over the business as owner, CEO, and seamstress of Sew Wild Canada.
Dave Burns of Lake Wood Design has always loved creating. In fact, he made a career out of it; he worked in renovations for 30 years. However, his first love was grade 9 woodworking class. It was there that he made his first table, a piece which he still owns today.
Many, many, years ago when I was in Grade 9, I built my first table out of mahogany for my Mom. Today, I still have that table even after my Mom has since passed. The table has withstood the test of time and the memory has been shared across generations. When I started crafting that table, I fell in love with woodworking.
